Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016 Pho was released by her the debut EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012, after which she debuted her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. She continued to make music available on the web including her self issued single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, performing the track "Sweat It Out" on July 21. Her music circulated around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she recorded alongside Cozz to record The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In the month of October, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she opted to appear in two songs featuring her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. Her second single Grampa on the 9th November. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles, titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed together with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was supported by a music video in February 20, 2019, and reached 3 million views on YouTube within just a week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
